product description
In 2018 pilot Screentime developed Germany’s first and foremost VR cinema for the Panik City on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg. The VR cinema is an integral part of the 90 minute storytelling experience designed exclusively for Panik City Betriebs GmbH by pilot Screentime and is an award winning tourist attraction that has been visited by over 50.000 visitors (as of 1st August 2019) since opening in March 2018.
The VR cinema is unique in Germany, as it is a permanent installation that runs 7 days a week without any on-site technical support team. A truly impressive feat that is a tribute to the technical skills of the development team at pilot Screentime and staff at Panik City.
The 70m2 room has 20 especially developed chairs that not only swivel 360° but also store and charge the VR headset while not being worn. The unique induction charging system that is installed in the swivel chairs is especially comfortable for the operations team as headsets do not require re-cabling between shows. The virtual reality cinema is in use for up to 12 hours a day with shows running every 20 minutes at peak times.
